Traffic Office Administrator

Location: Exeter, EX5 1EW

Job type: Permanent contract

Hours: 40 hours per week, working five days (Saturday & Sunday). Shift schedule: Saturday & Sunday between 18:00 and 06:00; Monday earliest start 17:00, latest finish 23:00; Tuesday & Wednesday earliest start 15:00, latest finish 22:00.

Royal Mail is now recruiting for Network Distribution System Administrators. If you can work well under pressure and are friendly and professional, you are the type of person we’re looking for.


About The Role

In order for Royal Mail to run a safe, efficient and cost effective fleet, the Network Distribution System Administrator would be expected to carry out the following tasks:

* Ensure that the Distribution Management System is kept up to date and data correctly input daily; all drivers are de‑briefed at the end of their duty.
* Ensure that CDU/FTA, the system we use to record our HGV drivers hours, is kept up to date and data correctly input daily to ensure compliance with European Legislation.
* Issue vehicle keys and log books in line with Royal Mail standards.
* Ensure digital tacho cards are downloaded in line with Royal Mail policy.
* Daily debrief to be carried out with all drivers; any unresolved issues to be passed onto shift manager.
* Ensure planned maintenance is carried out on vehicles and that the maintenance board and vehicle files are kept up to date.
* Hold a current clean driving licence for driving up to 3.5t vehicle (van) to perform ad‑hoc collections and ferry drivers to vehicle workshops to collect HGV vehicles.
* Full training will be provided.

* Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Looking for a role with targets to hit and challenges to overcome.
* Have a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points (for any roles with driving).

On Saturdays and Sundays you will be required to work alone, therefore you will need to be comfortable and confident working alone, which includes decision making on certain tasks. You will receive full training. This role attracts a Leadership Allowance of £193.98 per month pro rata to when you perform the role.
