An excellent role has recently become available to support students who struggle with learning difficulties in the classroom! This highly regarded specialist school looks after students between the ages of 4 and 16 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism.
Your role will mainly support learners while incorporating therapy and their curriculum. Ensure they reach all their goals academically and personally, achieving necessary age‑appropriate milestones.
The Mental Health Assistant will also provide general classroom support to the class teacher: managing general classroom behaviour, lesson preparation, keeping the class tidy, and listening to the students read and practice phonics.
The successful assistant will be calm and compassionate but confident, taking initiative and adapting their approach. Some children may need extra support and may have learning difficulties.
Experience working with children is beneficial, but not essential. Personality is most important. If you are confident and bubbly, this school wants to hear from you.
Individuals working toward a career in psychology, education or related fields are welcome to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with vulnerable children.
