Job Purpose
Multiskilled/mechanical engineer AP is responsible for PPM maintenance of plumbing systems for commercial buildings. The role is to work closely with contractors to ensure that plumbing systems are efficient, safe and meet all relevant regulations, as well as to troubleshoot and solve any issues that may arise throughout the site.
Duties
* Collaborate with contractors and builders to ensure plumbing systems are properly installed and function correctly.
* Issue health & safety inductions, permits and SSOW.
* Conduct on‑site inspections of systems to adhere to regulations and safety standards.
* Resolve any issues or malfunctions with plumbing systems.
* Provide technical guidance and support to contractors.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations.
* Conduct weekly/monthly PPMs, meeting SLA/KPI deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Hot and cold water systems, plumbing services including rectification of blockages.
* Low‑temperature hot water heating systems, pumps and controls.
* Ventilation, air handling and chilled water system.
* Compressed air systems.
* Legionella and pseudomonas control.
* Building management system (BMS) – training given.
* Refrigeration systems.
* Standby generator and associated equipment.
* Fire alarm system – training given.
* White goods.
* Lighting lamp replacement.
* Fire doors and closers.
* External drainage.
Candidate Profile
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to prioritize workload.
* Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Mechanical AP as JSP 375 Volume 3 Chapter 4 preferred – training provided.
* Safe systems of work as applied to mechanical systems with HSE 253 Safe isolation of equipment.
* ONC/OND, NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
