Job Overview
The post holder will be responsible for managing, leading, developing and delivering primary care medicines management services for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB); developing the medicines management service model and delivery plan for the transformation multidisciplinary teams (MDT) within primary care. The post holder will support the Chief Pharmacist to develop and implement the UHB medicines optimisation strategy and plan by ensuring our Cluster Pharmacy Teams are aware of, and aligned with the medicines management plans for safe, evidence based and cost-effective primary care prescribing. The post holder will be the medicines management lead on key strategic, operational, transformational programmes and initiatives within primary care requiring medicines management input. Main duties of the job are detailed in the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
Welsh Skills Desirable
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't "fluency", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
Qualifications
* Vocational Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Pharmacy (English Essential)
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (English Essential)
* Postgraduate Diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, or equivalent clinical or management experience (English Essential)
* Experience of implementing change (Desirable)
* Experience of working with Primary Care Contractors and their representative organisations (English Essential)
* Able to evaluate information and make decisions involving highly complex facts (English Essential)
