Primary Function
Responsible for administering electrocardiograms, applying Holter monitors and carrying out various office and clerical duties.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrocardiograms daily for emergency and routine care to inpatients and outpatients.
* Apply Holter monitor to patients explaining how they are used.
* Edit all EKG reports and transcribe all Holter and echocardiogram reports.
* Assist RNs with stress and nuclear testing.
* Act as preceptor in training new staff members.
* Schedule cardiology testing for inpatients and outpatients.
* Input medical data into the computer for billing purposes.
* Generate and prepare unedited EKG reports daily for interpretation by cardiologist.
* Maintain and clean equipment and prepare it for the next shift.
* Transports patients to and from room for testing.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
Vocational/technical training and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
