About the Role
This role sits within Energy UK's Policy Team and focuses on some of the most complex and high-impact areas of the energy system, including:
* Network regulation - particularly RIIO price controls and connections reform
* Infrastructure delivery - ensuring the grid is fit for net zero
* Governance and licensing - including NESO and system operator arrangements
* Stakeholder engagement - representing the sector in meetings, working groups, and conferences
* Briefing and analysis - preparing papers for the Executive Team and Board
We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a technically complex space. You'll need to be confident navigating regulatory frameworks and translating them into clear, actionable insights for members and stakeholders.
You'll likely have:
* Experience in energy policy, regulation, or infrastructure
* Knowledge of networks infrastructure, connections, or licensing
* Experience at a regulator, network or systems operator or code administrator
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Political awareness and stakeholder engagement experience
Bonus points for:
* Knowledge of EV infrastructure, spatial planning, or locational pricing
* Legal or technical background with regulatory documentation experience
