This is an important Public Health Improvement leadership role based within the Community Health & Social Care Directorate in NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coordinate, innovate and implement a range of strategies and programmes in response to regional priorities for population health improvement.
* Build community-based support and partnerships with a focus on reducing the impact of persistent health inequalities.
* Provide professional leadership and direction for the Public Health Improvement workforce across five Home Teams in the region.
* Manage a team of Public Health Improvement Leads.
* Influence and negotiate for actions that foster primary prevention and enable public health improvement work.
* Ensure organisational and directorate responsibilities are upheld and maintain strategic and operational arrangements with the Public Health Directorate.
Qualifications
* High level of strategic and community-based vision with strong leadership and management skills.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with stakeholders.
* Experience in public health improvement and team leadership.
