The Finance Manager position within the South East Regional Research Delivery Network offers a unique opportunity to support health and care research across the South East through financial oversight, accountability, and operational management of RRDN finances.
You will be part of an inclusive and collaborative team, working closely with the Finance Officer and the Host Organisation finance team at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. Key responsibilities include ensuring transparency of RDN finances and maintaining a clear audit trail for expenditure accountability.
Main duties of the job
As Finance Manager, you will be the primary contact for finance teams in research Delivery Organisations across the South East. You will collaborate with these organisations and the RRDN Operations Director to ensure full cost recovery and provide advice on best practices.

Main duties
Provide financial oversight for the dissemination and accounting of NIHR RDN funding within the RRDN, managing an annual budget of circa £20M. Work with finance teams and the RRDN Operations Director to ensure accountability, manage budgets, and produce forecasts and reports for stakeholders including the RDNCC, RDN Board, and DHSC.
Ensure transparency of RDN usage and maintain a clear audit trail. Align processes with the Host Organisation's SFIs and oversee invoice processing, ETC payments, and contractual compliance. Support planning and reporting for research Delivery Organisations, and conduct financial modelling and forecasting.
Manage the finance team, including staff reviews, training, development, and performance management. Regular travel to regional and national offices may be required.
