About the Role
:
As Head of Investment, you will be responsible for the operational delivery, performance, and customer satisfaction of all investment-related core works and projects within North Lanarkshire. Working closely with the Operational Director and fellow Senior Managers, you will:
1. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring programmes are resourced effectively and aligned with client priorities
2. Manage all aspects of investment works—including budgeting, cost control, profitability, performance, and health & safety
3. Lead and inspire teams across trades, operations, administration, and the subcontractor supply chain
4. Build strong, collaborative partnerships with clients, tenants, suppliers, and stakeholders
This role is central to driving operational excellence and ensuring our service delivery consistently meets and exceeds expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
5. Deliver investment programmes on time and within budget, ensuring customer experience is at the heart of all activity
6. Drive performance against KPIs and contractual commitments using data-led decision making
7. Identify efficiencies, innovate service delivery, and support improved profitability
8. Develop robust internal and external programmes and ensure supply chain alignment
9. Foster a positive, professional branch culture built on respect and collaboration
10. Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and operating systems (MCM, MSP, Workday, SOPs, etc.)
11. Embody the company values and promote them through 1:1s, meetings, appraisals, and engagement activities
Key Criteria:
12. Degree/professional qualification or equivalent career-based learning
13. Highly experienced Senior Manager within maintenance or construction
14. Extensive experience in investment work with strong operational leadership
15. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a pressurised environment
16. Strategic leadership experience with a customer-first approach
17. Strong understanding of contract, project, and partnership management
18. Ability to drive positive change and improve business efficiency
19. Outstanding communication and influencing skills
20. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure
21. Data-driven decision making and performance management expertise
22. IT literacy across Microsoft applications
23. Skilled in managing complaints, HR issues, and complex stakeholder relationships
24. Deep knowledge of health & safety practices
25. Commitment to personal and team development
Preferred Attributes
26. Professional construction qualifications (CIOB, RICS, ILM, HNC)
27. Experience managing service contracts and collaborative client relationships
28. Understanding of ISO 44001 principles
29. Strong report writing and procurement knowledge
