Your new role
Are you a proactive and detail-driven supply chain professional looking to join a dynamic engineering business? Our client due to identified business growth seeks to recruit an Expeditor and Document Controller on a permanent basis. Due to internal movement and a redefined role, we're looking for someone who can take ownership of document control and expediting processes. You'll be the go-to person for ensuring critical documentation and materials are tracked, managed, and delivered on time-helping this organisation stay on schedule and maintain high standards. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate on application having knowledge and experience of the key responsibilities of the job as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and control project documentation across teams and stakeholders
Manage engineering and vendor documentation inline with document control processes
Ensure the management of technical documents such as data, drawings and certifications and inspection reports is complete
Support with audits and ensure ISO 9001 compliance standards are met
Work with the wider business teams including commercial and sales to ensure documentations are complete
Track and expedite the flow of documents and materials to meet project deadlines
Work with suppliers to update progress and shipping schedules
Coordinate with logistics and customs teams to ensure delivery and clearance dates are met
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve delays or issues
Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
Identify and address process bottlenecks proactively
What you need to succeed
Ideally substantial experience in a recent role as Expeditor / Document Controller
Able to work in the Chesterfield area, this role is office based seeking a candidate in the local job market
Experience of working in a similar role within engineering/ manufacturing would be preferred.
A strong understanding of procurement, logistics and vendor documentation processes
Knowledge and experience with ERP systems
A self-sufficient, driven individual with excellent communication skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Experience in document control, expediting, or a similar coordination role
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, office-based environment
Commercially aware and able to engage with a range of stakeholders
