About the apprenticeship
Duties
Mise en Place Preparation: Wash, peel, and chop fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits to ensure all components are ready for the brunch service.
● Protein and Sauce Prep: Assist in preparing eggs, meats, or dressings from scratch
● Plate Assembly: Work alongside the line cook to help plate dishes with speed and precision, ensuring every meal looks as good as it tastes
● Kitchen Flow and Cleaning: Keep the "pass" and prep stations clear of clutter, manage the dishwashing and maintain high sanitation standards
● Stock and Organisation: Monitor ingredient levels throughout the shift, labelling and dating prep containers to ensure maximum freshness and zero waste

Requirements
Qualifications
Education: GCSE English and Maths (Grade 3/D or equivalent) is preferred, as these are required to complete the Level 2 Apprenticeship standard.
Right to Work: Must have valid documentation to work in the UK.
Experience: No professional kitchen experience is required, but a genuine passion for food and a willingness to work hard are essential.The ability to remain calm and focused during the intense "mid-morning rush"; while maintaining a
positive attitude.
A coachable spirit that welcomes feedback and takes pride in mastering basic techniques — from slicing an avocado to seasoning a sauce.
As brunch relies on morning preparation, being dependable and arriving ready to work is essential for the team’s success.
A commitment to the "whole" experience, ensuring every garnish is placed thoughtfully and every plate leaves the kitchen in perfect condition.
