Job Summary
We invite you to join our growing team at GRAHAM in the Northwest Region! We are seeking a proactive Building Services Coordinator to support our Building Services Manager and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.
As a Building Services Coordinator, you will assist in the management, coordination, and technical oversight of complex MEP design and build subcontract packages. Working closely with the Building Services Manager, you will help ensure that building services installations meet required standards of design quality, construction workmanship, commissioning performance, and compliance with relevant regulations.
You will collaborate with design teams, specialist subcontractors, and project leadership to support programme delivery, maintain quality controls, and contribute to GRAHAM's commitment to safety and regulatory excellence, including alignment with the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator. Your role will be vital in maintaining project momentum and ensuring that technical and statutory requirements are met throughout the construction process.
We are looking for someone with strong commercial awareness, clear and confident communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team as well as having excellent leadership skills. Initiative, problem-solving capability, and a genuine interest in delivering quality within the construction industry are essential.
Job Description
The Building Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services across all project stages, ensuring technical excellence, commercial control, and high‑quality execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination of MEP Services - Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and public health installations to ensure seamless integration with architectural and structural elements.
2. Programme and Interface Management - Plan and sequence MEP activities in line with the overall construction programme, identifying and managing service interfaces and constraints.
3. Technical Review and Compliance - Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to confirm compliance with design intent, statutory requirements, and project standards.
4. Design Development Support - Work with the Building Services Manager, design consultants, and specialist subcontractors to resolve technical queries and drive coordinated solutions.
5. Quality Assurance - Monitor installation quality, ensuring workmanship meets specifications, approved drawings, and relevant industry standards.
6. Buildability and Installation Coordination - Assess design details for buildability, highlight potential issues early, and support the development of practical installation solutions.
7. MEP Clash Detection and Resolution - Participate in coordination workshops and utilise models/drawings to identify and resolve clashes before installation.
8. Commissioning Support - Assist in planning and coordinating commissioning, witnessing, and sign‑off activities to ensure system performance meets project requirements.
9. Technical Documentation Management - Maintain accurate records, ensure timely submission of technical documents, and track approvals, RFIs, and changes.
10. Subcontractor Coordination - Liaise with MEP subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of requirements, timely progress, and adherence to project deliverables.
11. Site Inspections and Progress Monitoring - Carry out regular inspections to monitor progress, verify compliance, and report issues to the Building Services Manager.
12. Handover and Close‑Out Support - Support the delivery of O&M information, as-built documents, and commissioning data required for handover.
