Overview
Senior Test Development Engineer – Glenrothes, Scotland; Livingston, Scotland; or Harlow, Essex. Join RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defence company, to design, manufacture, verify, validate and support the lifecycle of test equipment for electronic systems.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
* Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
* Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
* Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
* Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
* Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers
Qualifications
* Experience in the design of product test development hardware and wiring schedules
* System interface design and appreciation of NI LabView/Teststand
* Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
* Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
* Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills and ability to support/debug system integration
* Minimum security clearance of BPSS (eligible for security clearance)
Desired Experience
* Significant test development experience in industry
* Understanding of common test architectures PXI/LXI
* Measurement uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
* Software detailed knowledge of NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, and C#
