/ Position: Airworthiness Project Engineer
/ Location: Haywards Heath (Hybrid working can be agreed)
/ Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per week
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Airworthiness Project Engineer to join the Gama Aviation Project Management Office (PMO), supporting programmes across the Gama Group.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong grounding in Continuing Airworthiness, Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 environments, combined with the ability to lead and deliver complex projects.
This is a diverse position offering exposure to high-impact initiatives across our organisation. The successful candidate will apply their airworthiness and regulatory expertise to ensure that engineering, maintenance, and operational projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and effectively.

/ Responsibilities:
* Assisting the PMO with the delivery of projects across the business and acting as the focal point for internal stakeholders during the planning and initiation phases of a project
* Providing robust project governance in line with internal processes and industry best practice
* Acting as a focal point between PMO, CAMO, Part-145, Safety, and Operational teams during project planning and initiation
* Ensuring project outputs meet airworthiness, regulatory, and organisational approval requirements, including Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 considerations
* Responsible for the development, ownership and implementation of project management plans, schedules, risk registers and other associated tools
* Completing internal and external reporting including schedule, financial and quality performance
* Assisting with bid development work as required, providing inputs on cost, schedule and risk
* Providing assistance to account managers during the business as usual phase of a contract
* Delivering briefs to the senior leadership team and providing assistance in the preparation of briefs and presentations to the Board of Directors
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential
* Significant experience of delivering complex projects, ideally in an aviation, manufacturing or technology environment
* Proven ability to work as part of a matrix organisation
* Significant experience within an aviation, CAMO, MRO, or regulated engineering environment
* Strong understanding of Continuing Airworthiness principles, including Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 requirements
* Able to apply different methodology as required i.e. waterfall vs agile
* Able to manage multiple projects concurrently without impacting performance
* Experience of commercial and contract negotiation processes
* Proficient in a range of project management software tools including MS Project
* Excellent communication skills with a range of audiences including senior managers and customers
* Experience of forming and maintaining working relationships across professional and operational boundaries
* Able to travel regularly within the UK, and occasional international travel
Advantageous
* Formal project management qualification such as Prince 2, APM PMQ would be advantageous
* Management of Risk (MoR) and/or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) are highly desirable
