What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Children's Residential Care Manager - Responsible Individual REF: Gloucester 5268542 Pay rate: £61,174.00 to £66,223.00 per annum, depending on experience A full driving licence and willingness to drive An Enhanced DBS is required for this role The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a highly skilled, experienced senior leader to fulfil the requirements of an appointed and bespoke Responsible Individual (RI) role / Children's Residential Care Manager, within Children’s Services. The post holder will support the mobilisation and ongoing operational oversight and line management of a new children’s homes and a large, supported accommodation facility for care leavers, all of which are at different stages within the Ofsted registration process. In addition, and as an expert in this regulatory field, you will be integral to and support the quality assurance functions regarding designated, externally commissioned residential services. We are seeking applications from self-motivated professionals who are adept in leading these flagship services to ensure our most vulnerable children and young people are supported to achieve timely permanence. The Responsible Individual/ Children's Residential Care Manager must ensure full compliance at all times regarding the regulatory and statutory requirements across all services in scope and establish mechanisms for continuous service developments which lead to outstanding outcomes for all children and young people placed within our in-house provision. What the client is looking for: A relevant leadership/management qualification Evidence of continued professional development A full driving licence and willingness to drive A registered Manager with significant operational experience in this role, and/or a senior leader already responsible for line managing a number of children’s homes Extensive experience of working in statutory social care settings with children and families, including substantial experience of line managing registered children’s homes, ideally all or some of which is within local authority settings A proven track record in preparing for and leading successful inspections and reviews Experience of managing substantial budgets, demonstrating an ability to manage tensions between needs and finite resources. A good understanding of the political context and governance structure within which local authority children’s services are delivered Comprehensive knowledge of the Quality Standards for children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation and related Regulations. A strong understanding of the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) for children’s homes.
