The Role
The post holder provides nursing leadership for specific Paediatric Specialist Service within NHS Lanarkshire in supporting the delivery of nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management and education of children with specific specialist disorders within the hospital and community setting. This role encompasses autonomous practice, caseload management and a level of specialist knowledge and intervention, required by a specific patient group, their carers and other staff involved in the care delivery process.
The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday : 9am - 5pm.
In this key role, you will
Clinical
* Lead, supervise and delegate appropriate caseload work, to members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Clinical Governance
* Utilisation of research material and evidence based practice, to inform and underpin further service development.
Professional Role
* Provision of specialist nursing advice, to the relevant managed clinical networks.
What You'll Bring
* Registered Sick Childrens Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
