About the Role Vision for Education are recruiting an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in Thornbury. This opportunity is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with strong KS2 experience who is confident supporting pupils across Years 3–6. As a Primary TA, you will play a key role in helping pupils stay engaged, make progress, and feel supported throughout their learning journey. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include: Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 Delivering small group interventions in core subjects such as English and Maths Providing targeted 1:1 support where required Assisting with SATs preparation and booster sessions Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND Managing low-level behaviour confidently and positively Preparing classroom resources and supporting daily routines Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive learning attitudes This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive mainstream setting where your KS2 knowledge and classroom experience will be highly valued. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a confident and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant who: Has recent experience supporting within KS2 in a mainstream primary school Has a good understanding of the KS2 curriculum Is confident delivering small group interventions Can support pupils of mixed abilities Has strong behaviour management skills Is reliable, adaptable, and professional Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one) This role would suit someone who is organised, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential.
