Epitaxy Equipment Engineer
Location: Caswell, Northampton
Day Shift: 08:00 : 16:00

You will provide Equipment Engineering support to the Epitaxy Shift Equipment Engineers and Technicians. This will include continuous improvement projects, day:to:day production support, fault finding and repair of production equipment and associated systems, and working with process gas systems including the use of self:contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Duties:
:Lead equipment improvements, upgrades, and assist with installations.
:Work on MOVPE and associated equipment to minimise production downtime, including phosphorous:trap and gas cylinder changes using SCBA.
:Operate forklift trucks (training provided).
:Oversee chemicals, gases, and spare parts control, including chemical fills and waste management.
:Provide technical direction and instruction to Shift Technicians on procedures, safety, and best practice.
:Support logistics projects (equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganisation, shipping).
:Assist with shutdown activities (some weekend overtime may be required).
:Liaise with equipment and spares suppliers, specialist service providers, and supervise external contractors and field service engineers.
:Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment utilisation and uptime.
:Adhere to all site safety and environmental procedures.

Support the site emergency response function.
To be considered you will have the following experience:
:Electrical engineering experience including low and high voltage work.
:Minimum 5 years' experience within a Wafer Fab or Epitaxy Engineering environment.
:HNC or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent time:served apprenticeship).
:Strong understanding of pneumatic systems and PLC operation.
:Working knowledge of vacuum systems including high:vac principles, pumps, and leak:checking.
:Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring and mechanical schematics.
:Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and gases.
:Experience with Aixtron MOVPE reactors or other CVD equipment.
:Semiconductor process gas experience including Mass Flow Controllers.
:Experience with dry abatement systems.
