Care and Support - Sandmere Care Home
Contract: Full Time
Salary: £13.78 Per Hour
Shift Type: Nightshift
About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll play a key role in leading our care team, ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care, and creating a warm, supportive environment. You’ll coordinate shifts, lead by example, and be responsible for the performance of your team during each shift. Your leadership will help us maintain a caring, efficient, and positive atmosphere in our home.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate staff to ensure smooth operation and a positive environment.
* Support residents with daily activities, respecting their dignity and independence.
* Oversee medication management, including ordering, administration, and documentation.
* Engage effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
* Foster a supportive team environment respecting diversity.
* Welcome visitors and conduct home tours for prospective residents and families.
* Respond promptly to emergency call bells and assess situations.
* Maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, and case notes.
* Participate in training, staff meetings, and professional development.
* Adhere to health and safety policies, including COSHH, and escalate concerns when necessary.
Requirements
* SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or actively working towards it.
* Practical medication administration competencies.
* Leadership skills to motivate and develop a team.
* Compassionate personality with a commitment to person-centred care.
