Location: Cardiff Crown Court
Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour
Hours: 8:30am : 4:30pm (Full:time) : 37 hrs per week
Contract: 6:month temporary assignment, extension possibility

About the Role
Brook Street is currently recruiting for a Court Usher to work within HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) at Cardiff Crown Court.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long:term career within the Ministry of Justice, and youll play a vital role in supporting the day:to:day running of the court, acting as a key point of contact for court users and ensuring hearings run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing courtrooms for hearings, trials, and meetings Calling parties into court and managing the flow of hearings Welcoming and assisting members of the public, legal professionals, and judiciary Escorting court users and providing clear information about proceedings Handling sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy Managing court files, documentation, and general admin tasks Operating court equipment (recording systems, computers, etc.) Supporting colleagues and judiciary outside of court sessions

Were looking for someone who is:
Polite and professional at all times A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Resilient, with the ability to handle potentially difficult or distressing cases Compassionate and empathetic, particularly when dealing with vulnerable individuals Organised and able to follow clear procedures Comfortable working in a structured, fast:paced environment
Requirements
Minimum 2 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
OR experience working in a busy public:facing role Basic IT skills
Additional Information
Parking available on site Enhanced DBS check required (processed by Brook Street) 3:year activity check will be conducted as part of vetting Start date dependent on successful clearance
