Resident Doctor/Nottingham/Tollerton/ Ad-Hoc Shifts

Spire Nottingham Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Resident Doctor to join the bank team.

You must be able to drive to access this hospital and apply for the role.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. To be part of a team providing 24 hour medical cover for all routine medical care and response to consultant requests. Immediate first line resuscitation to patients, visitors or staff member as required.
2. To assist in the management of patients and provide back-up support to consultants
3. To liaise with the senior nurse regularly at least every 3-4 hours to check on patient progress, or more frequently if a patient’s condition necessitates.
4. Provider of First Aid
5. Lead emergency team – work with as not always beneficial to lead
6. ECG conducting and interpretation
7. PCA and Epidural management
8. Good venepuncture and cannulation skills
9. Good communication and team working skills
10. IV drug preparation and administration
11. Male / Female catherisation
12. Pharmaceutical knowledge
13. Taking Blood and result interpretation
14. Patient cannulation
15. Insertion of Contrast dye for CT & MRI
16. Emergency airway management
17. Assessment and monitoring of patient
18. Use of medical devices. PCA/epidurals
19. Provide pain management in liaison with Consultant

Who we're looking for:

20. Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine
21. Minimum 2 years post graduation anaesthetic and or ICU experience
22. Current ACLS/ALS and EPLS/PALS certification
23. Knowledge and understanding of the critically ill patient
24. Critical care provider and Management during critical care phase - planned and unplanned
25. Provider of First Aid
26. Lead emergencies and resuscitation
27. IV drug preparation and administration
28. Cardiac monitoring / arrhythmia recognition
29. Excellent venepuncture and cannulation skills
30. Excellent communication and team working skills
