This Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work within Major Connections based in our Borehamwood office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £80,574, Outer London Allowance and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose
As the Project Manager you will manage several connections for LPN & Developers, Major Connections team to ensure successful pre and post contract management of all projects to exceed the customer expectations. To complete project management through full life cycle of the project from initial enquiry through to post investment appraisal following the UK Power Networks Project Governance and Control process.
Principal Accountabilities
11. To own and adopt UKPN's philospohy that safety is the No 1 priority
12. To exceed customer expectations.
13. Manage projects throughout their lifecycle from Enquiry, through Quotation and on to completion following PG and C process.
14. Liaison with delivery partners; both during the Design and Programme Delivery for the pricing and delivery of new connections solutions.
15. Liaison with Asset Management to obtain point of connection information and develop strategies for delivering customer requirements
16. Manage the delivery (not doing the delivery) of new connections major projects.
17. Manage the financial control of projects, ensuring the delivery of planned Gross Margins.
18. Ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
19. Produce quotations following our Licence Conditions ensuring regulatory compliance of all projects (LC12, LC15, LC15a).
20. Work with customers and government offices to progress long-term strategies for connecting new load for expanding development areas.
21. Take full responsibility for the success of projects.
22. Negotiate terms and conditions, Liquidated Damages and contracts for major construction projects.
23. Liaison across the company with marketing and key account management, Finance, Legal, Regulation and network governance to ensure a consistent and appropriate strategy to exceed customer expectation.
24. Communicate and discuss LV, HV and EHV networks both internally and to customers
25. A can do and customer friendly attitude at all times.
26. Presentations to external customers and UK Power Networks senior management
27. Produce and manage ITT in conjunction with Procurement for cable and plant installations.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
A HNC in Electrical Engineering (or similar) is the preferred requirement. However, applications from candidates with a lesser qualification and a strong track record in either project management or distribution networks (design or construction) would be welcomed.
Experience of the Project Governance and Control process and a strong commercial awareness would be advantageous.
Experience providing excellent customer service.
