Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To provide efficient and comprehensive Personal Assistant Service to the Directorate Manager, Associate Director of Midwifery and other members of the Directorate Management Team .
* To co-ordinate all enquiries made of the Directorate Manager and Associate Director of Midwifery and taking appropriate action or escalating to senior staff to ensure the continuity of effective service provision.
* To provide administrative support to the Directorate Management Team.
Person specification
Qualifications & Education
* NVQ level IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of relevant experience
* Educated to GCSE level including GCSE English Language Grade C or above
* Advanced keyboard skills including a very high standard of word processing skills e.g. OCR/RSA III or equivalent level qualification/experience
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience in a PA / secretarial role including experience of diary management
* Good working knowledge of Office software packages to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Experience of medical terminology.
* Experience of minute taking
* Experience of staff management
* Knowledge of Complaints process
* Knowledge of NHS/Trust policies, procedures and guidelines
Skills & Abilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to communicate across a multi-disciplinary team.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
* Able to work on own initiative
* Able to manage time effectively
