Shift Patterns
40 hours per week on a rotational basis (rota provided 4 weeks in advance). Typical shift pattern: 2 on 4 off. 2–3 shifts per week.
About the Role
We are looking for Children and Young Persons Residential Support Workers to join our home who can establish meaningful relationships and create a positive, warm, and rewarding environment. This permanent role will support children and young adults within a child sexual exploitation (CSE) residential setting for girls aged 11–17.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will organise activities, provide 1:1 support, attend off‑site activities, and adapt to new tasks each day. You will be flexible, adaptable and skilled at reading situations to guide young people toward positive choices.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Providing emotional support during challenging times
* Building strong and healthy relationships to help children and young people learn to trust again
* Working as the key worker for an individual young person
* Helping them build resilience and self‑confidence
* Teaching boundaries and what a healthy relationship looks like
* Fostering ambition, assisting in achieving goals, and maximising potential
* Supporting educational pursuits
* Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews, or any other meetings as directed by the line manager
* Empowering young people to participate in decision‑making about their lives and futures
* Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
* Encouraging community engagement, attending off‑site activities, and expanding personal social networks
* Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities, and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.)
Qualifications / Experience / Requirements
* Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
* Full UK driving licence preferable
* No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people
* Attendance at a 2‑week training programme required
* Availability for sleep‑in shifts

Additional Information
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. All staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day‑to‑day role.
