A well-established and growing UK manufacturer of essential healthcare and hygiene products is seeking an ambitious and skilled Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to join its Group Operations team. What You'll Do
As the CI Engineer, you'll be central to the transformation of manufacturing operations across multiple sites. From evaluating current production processes to leading hands-on Kaizen events, you'll drive measurable improvements that reduce waste, increase efficiency, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
You will:
Lead and execute Lean Six Sigma improvement projects across manufacturing and warehouse operations.
Drive waste reduction, standardisation, and process optimisation activities using tools like 5S, SMED, VSM, TPM, and root cause analysis.
Support new product and process introductions with trials, validations, and documentation.
Develop SOPs and Work Instructions to ensure best practice is sustained.
Coach and train teams in CI methods and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Monitor KPIs, lead gap-closing initiatives, and contribute to strategic CI planning.
Collaborate cross-functionally to reimagine layouts and improve workflow, material movement, and visual management.This is a varied and high-impact role with visibility across the entire organisation and tangible influence on future business performance.
What You'll Need to Succeed
A bachelor's degree in industrial, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering (or similar)
Solid experience in a manufacturing/production-based CI or process improvement role
Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, Root Cause Analysis, Kanban, SMED)
Proficiency in statistical analysis and confident data interpretation
Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive change through coaching and influence
Hands-on problem-solving attitude with a bias for action and resultsDesirable:
Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
Experience in regulated environments (medical, healthcare, or FMCG manufacturing)
