We are looking for an experienced 360 Operator to join our metal recycling facility. The operator will be responsible for safely operating a 360° material handler or excavator fitted with grabs, magnets, or shears to move, sort, and load scrap metal. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced recycling environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate a 360° excavator/material handler to move, load, and sort ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
* Feed shredders, shears, balers, and other processing equipment with material.
* Load and unload lorries, containers, and storage bays with scrap metal.
* Use appropriate attachments (grabs, magnets, shears) safely and efficiently.
* Conduct daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and report any faults or damages.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
* Work closely with yard staff, weighbridge operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth site operations.
* Comply with all site health & safety and environmental regulations, including handling hazardous materials safely.
* Support recycling targets by ensuring efficient material flow and minimising contamination.
Shifts available AM or PM: 07:00-19:00
Pay rates for AM shift £12.46 and PM shift £14.00
