Summary: Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The Meta family of apps is currently available in 100 languages and we are adding many more. ~90% of people already use our products from outside of North America and we continue to expand internationally. As Language Manager for the market communicating in Arabic, you will be involved in ensuring that we deliver a great user experience to our international audience through high quality translations. As we work closely with team members in remote offices and regional stakeholders, it is very important that you will be flexible working with remote teams across different time zones. Required Skills: Arabic Language Manager Responsibilities: 1. Reviewing, editing and/or translating high visibility UI content and high priority long form content of Meta family of apps and other core experiences 2. Performing localization screenshot testing to identify linguistic and functional issues 3. Working closely with product teams and performing hands-on linguistic testing on web and mobile devices 4. Collaborating with the Localization Program Management team to support product launches and drive the efforts to ensure end to end linguistic quality during the product launch cycles 5. Driving product and/or vertical-specific language quality initiatives 6. Collaborating with the Vendor Management team to select new translation vendors, drive vendor-probation, and support their ramp-up 7. Closely monitoring vendor translation quality through our quality framework and managing translation vendors' performance when needed 8. Driving or supporting cross-functional and/or team level quality framework at scale 9. Building and scaling stakeholder education programs for internal cross-functional partners and external vendors to ensure language quality from end to end 10. Maintaining the localization glossaries, style guides, and TMs (Translation Memory) for owned content & keeping them up-to-date and audience appropriate 11. Working closely with the in-country stakeholders to deliver market-appropriate translation 12. Performing other linguistic tasks as needed 13. Traveling domestically or internationally to other Meta offices and/or business sites as needed Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 14. 3 years of experience in English-to-Arabic translation, product UI localization, linguistic reviews and translation quality management 15. Experience in creating and/or maintaining linguistic assets for Arabic translation (e.g. terminology, style guides, etc.) 16. Knowledge of society and current trends in the Arab world 17. Familiarity with CAT tools 18. Experience in localization of online and mobile products from English to Arabic 19. Cross-functional experience working with engineers, product teams, regional stakeholders or clients 20. BS/BA degree Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: 21.
