The Role
As Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the commercial and operational performance of our business. You'll work closely with sales, design, and production teams to ensure every quotation is accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and manage the estimating function, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely tender submissions.
* Work collaboratively with the sales team to review project specifications, design criteria, and safety requirements.
* Manage digital enquiry files and ensure all quote-related documents are kept up to date.
* Input and track key data including pricing, revisions, and submission dates.
* Maintain accurate labour and material costings using tools like Phoenix and Labour Tracker.
* Provide budget forecasts, KPI reporting, and commercial updates to the Sales Director.
* Contribute to seamless project handovers by preparing documentation and attending coordination meetings.
* Liaise with suppliers for up-to-date pricing of externally sourced components.
* Support the design and operations teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Ensure accurate and consistent use of internal systems, including CRM and pricing databases.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support general business activities as needed.
About You
We’re looking for a confident Estimator with a technical mindset and a proactive approach. If you're comfortable working across multiple teams, able to handle complex data, and enjoy a hands-on environment – we’d love to hear from you.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in estimating, ideally in engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
* High level of numerical accuracy and analytical thinking.
* Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings/specs.
* Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or costing software (e.g. Phoenix, Labour Tracker) is an advantage.
* Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001) is desirable.
* Comfortable inputting and handling complex technical data.
