Assistant Plan Coordinator
* Location: Barnsley S70
* Job Type: Temporary Contract, Full-time, Hybrid
* Salary: £13.26 PAYE per hour
We are seeking an Assistant Plan Coordinator to carry out administration duties related to casework for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on behalf of the Local Authority. This role also supports the Early Help Team and is crucial in implementing the Council’s statutory duties.
Day-to-day of the role
* Support the implementation and maintenance of education health and care plans for children and young people.
* Respond to customer enquiries through multiple channels including telephony, face-to-face, and email, ensuring adherence to the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice and safeguarding issues.
* Provide comprehensive information, advice, and guidance on statutory Special Educational Needs processes to internal and external stakeholders.
* Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver service improvements and promote the Council’s Digital First principles to shift from paper-based applications to online portals.
* Prepare for and administer Statutory Assessment panels according to statutory timescales, including tracking cases, creating agendas, attending meetings, taking accurate minutes, and disseminating actions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working with legal processes and statutory timescales.
* Overview knowledge of services offered by the Authority to children, young people, and families, with some knowledge of support related to SEN.
* Proven experience handling confidential, sensitive, and potentially contentious information.
* Significant experience communicating and working effectively with a wide range of people, including the public.
* Ability to manage a demanding workload, meet strict deadlines, provide advice, support, and guidance, maintain accurate records, and produce reports/statistical information.
