Anexciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced registered nurse to joinour team as a Night Nurse Practitioner, delivering critical out-of-hoursservices. This role supports clinical governance and patient care continuityduring night and weekend shifts. A structured three-month supernumerarytraining period will be provided to ensure proficiency and confidence in therole

Theywill contribute to the provision of professional, clinical, managerialleadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for helping todevelop and maintain a ward or departments philosophy that has the patientat the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery

Asan experienced nurse the jobholder will assist in co-ordinating activities onthe ward or department ensuring effective communication is maintained at alltimes, providing support to qualified and unqualified nurses within theward/dept. He/she will play a key rolein the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementationand evaluation of programmes of care.

Thejobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence-basedpractice, developing the nursing team and ensuring effective management ofthe ward/department in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. The jobholder will work to ensure that staffing plans are enacted and reviewingstaffing for the coming shift.

Thisis an out of hours position to support the medical and respiratory wards. Thejob holder will carry a bleep so that each area can contact you when help isrequired. Clinical skills needed for this role include; cannulation,venepuncture, catheterisation, ECG and competent A to E assessment.Additional training will be provided to ensure skills and kept current whilein the role.

Job responsibilities

Thejobholder will play an essential role assisting the Senior Sister/ChargeNurse with the 24 hour continuingresponsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward /department. They will contribute tothe provision of professional, clinical, managerial leadership andsupervision for the nursing team. Thejobholder is responsible for helping to develop and maintain a ward ordepartments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionatesafe and quality care delivery. Throughassisting with managing the administrative and financial aspects of the ward,the jobholder will support the cost effective use of resources

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas)
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification


Experience

* Significant post registration experience at staff nurse level or equivalent
* Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and management colleagues
* Audit and standard setting
* Clinical Experience within the specialty.
