Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Refurbishment, Housing, and Maintenance. ​We employ over 280 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland. As part of our 2026 Trainee Recruitment intake we are looking to recruit a Trainee Planner. Role & Responsibilites: Assist in Creating Tender Programmes and Schedules: Learn to use tools like Microsoft Project and/or Asta to support the creation of tender programmes and project schedules, with supervision and training. Maintain and Process Team Information: Help collect, organise, and manage information from team members, ensuring it follows a controlled process, under the mentorship of senior staff. Monitor Project Progress: Assist in tracking the progress of live sites and pre-construction phases by updating logs, attending meetings, and learning to use progress evaluation tools. Learn and Apply Planning Standards: Gain knowledge of agreed planning standards and assist in applying them with oversight from experienced team members. Support in Cause & Effect Analysis: Learn how to prepare Cause & Effect Programmes by observing and assisting with their creation to understand delay positions. Assist with Mitigation Programmes: Contribute to the development of mitigation programmes by supporting senior staff and learning the principles behind them. Liaise with the Supply Chain: Help communicate with critical members of the supply chain to understand the process of producing accurate timescales and logic under supervision. Support the Bid Programme Process : Assist in collating information and managing the Bid Programme, contributing to the development of bid responses that meet and exceed client expectations. Candidate: Have a willingness to learn Be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills Have strong IT Skills Have excellent communication skills and be capable of multi-tasking Be adaptable to change within a fast-paced environment Have the ability work both as part of a team and by using their own initiative Why work for us?
