Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our Surfacing Solutions business across England and Wales. The role will be based at our head office at Breedon on the Hill near Derby, but with flexibility to work remotely by agreement.
Reporting to the General Manager you will lead the Surfacing Solutions operations team to obtain the required financial, sustainability and safety performance. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing relationships with key clients, including National Highways and Local Authorities as well as internal relationships within the Breedon Group.
Key Responsibilities
Internally – the Operations Manager will be responsible for all operational matters, reporting to the General Manager at an operational level. The team will work collaboratively and proactively with multiple internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Breedon GB Materials management team, Finance, Technical Team, Health Safety & Environment, HR and Sustainability functions.
Externally – the Operations Manager and team will work dynamically and collaboratively with external clients, contractors, external material suppliers and the construction delivery and best practice communities.

* Driving the culture within the business to ensure the team operate within the Breedon Values
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience of leading and developing teams at an operational level
* A keen eye for detail focussing on driving quality throughout operational delivery
* A strong technical understanding of material performance and adherence to specifications across the area
* Experience of key client relationship management preferably within a similar sector
* Ability to perform under pressure, analyse problems and evaluate data
* Evidence of influencing and driving continuous improvement
