Your Role as SENCO: Lead and manage the school’s SEN provision, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all students are met. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans for students. Provide advice and guidance to teaching staff on differentiation, SEN strategies, and supporting students in the classroom. Track and monitor student progress, using data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and ensuring students are progressing in line with their potential. Lead on staff training in relation to SEN, ensuring all members of the school community are equipped to meet the needs of students with SEN. Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students. Actively participate in SEN strategic planning, contributing to the development of policies and ensuring adherence to the SEND Code of Practice. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in SEN (or equivalent experience). ✅ Previous experience as a SENCO or in a leadership role in SEN provision. ✅ Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCPs, and effective strategies for supporting students with SEN. ✅ Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and lead others. ✅ A proactive, compassionate approach to SEN leadership, with a commitment to improving outcomes for students. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
