If so… A really rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Oxford. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children. These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow. As a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health. Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required. The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs.
