The Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Desktop and Intune Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This role is responsible for managing and supporting end-user devices, ensuring seamless operation and security across our desktop estate, and leveraging Microsoft Intune for modern device management. You will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team whilst ensuring the desktop provision is suitable, scalable and achieves the highest standards. This role offers opportunity to utilise technical expertise in Windows environments, endpoint security, and device management as well as working with all other directorates and managing user expectation. This position plays a key part in fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and positive impact across the organisation. The Desktop and Intune Engineer role is integral to promoting collaboration, maintaining trust within the team, operating both independently and as part of the wider team to deliver strategic objectives and exemplary IT service. Key deliverables: In this role you will be expected to: Provide 2nd line "escalated" support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices (Windows and iOS). Manage and administer Microsoft Intune for device enrolment, compliance, and supported application deployment. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and reporting. Collaborate with security and service management teams to provide support for ad hoc rollouts and collaborate on improving the user experience. Produce and keep updated documentation pertaining the Intune configuration in relation to Autopilot, enrolment and system policies Ensure device compliance using built in dashboards Work directly with staff in person and over Teams in relation to device management About You Below are some of the key essential experience, skills & knowledge required for this post: Lead criterion 1: Proven experience in desktop support and endpoint management. Lead criterion 2: Good knowledge of Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager. Proficiency in Windows 11 administration and troubleshooting. Good knowledge of Autopilot, MDM policies, and application deployment. Experience with Entra and Conditional Access policies. Good knowledge of scripting skills using PowerShell. Good knowledge of desktop security principles. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
