The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring continuity of supply to support manufacturing operations, while managing inventory and supplier performance. The Role As Planner/Buyer, you will be responsible for planning, organising, scheduling and purchasing a portfolio of parts from a group of vendors, ensuring consistent supply while managing inventory levels in line with business targets. Key ResponsibilitiesProcure direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing operations using SAP ERPPlan and schedule inbound supply to align with production requirements and inventory targetsProcess purchase orders accurately and on time, managing the full procurement cycle through to invoicingMaintain replenishment, call-off and supplier-managed inventory processesManage non-conforming supplier stock in conjunction with quality teamsIdentify and support cost reduction and cost avoidance initiativesCommunicate and resolve supply issues that may impact manufacturingSupport accurate inventory records, safety stock levels and supplier forecastsManage component changes and introduction of new parts through the planning processMonitor and report on key supplier performance metricsSupport additional materials and supplier management projects as requiredWhat You Will NeedProven experience in a supply chain planning or buying roleStrong understanding of supply chain principles and best practiceExcellent analytical, planning and organisational skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience using SAP ERP systemsAbility to work independently, prioritise under pressure and adapt to changing demandsA collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple teamsTo speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Ruairi McCann, Recruitment Manager at Vickerstock Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
