Personal assistant required for a twelve‑year‑old girl with cerebral palsy and hearing loss who lives in Truro. A rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to provide 1:1 support, build a positive and trusting relationship, and help her access enjoyable, safe activities in the community and develop her independence.
Responsibilities
The role will involve supporting her with suitable activities, offering emotional reassurance, and helping her navigate a period of significant change in her life.

Requirements
* Full driving licence desirable but not essential
* Knowledge of or personal experience supporting young people with special educational needs beneficial
* Caring, patient and supportive nature essential
Employment Arrangement
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council. All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, the administration of which will be undertaken by Cornwall Council. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Hours and Pay
Six flexible hours per week, primarily to provide cover for the current PA during annual leave and school holidays.
Starting from £13.00 per hour during an initial training period. Potential for increased pay for the right candidate, depending on skills and experience.
