An ambitious local authority with a well-established commercial property investment portfolio is seeking an Interim Asset Management Surveyor to join its Investment Team.
The council manages a diverse portfolio valued at c.£284m, generating annual income of c.£19m and comprising over 200 assets across town centre regeneration schemes, industrial, retail, office, and leisure properties. This role is hands-on, estate-focused, and central to delivering the priorities set out in the Annual Property Plan.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Day-to-day asset and estate management of a commercial investment portfolio, including directly let and ground-leased properties
* Rent reviews, new lettings, lease renewals, and general landlord and tenant matters
* Processing licences for consent, surrenders, and dilapidations
* Estate management of multi-let properties, including service charge budgeting and management
* Oversight of external letting agents where appointed
* Debt monitoring and income management across the portfolio
* Input into project groups where assets fall within the managed portfolio or where property expertise is required
* Undertaking valuations as required
Candidates will need:
* RICS qualification
* Proven experience within a commercial property or investment environment
* Strong working knowledge of commercial leases
* A full UK driving licence (access to a vehicle preferred due to site visits)
This is a genuinely interesting interim role within a mature but evolving investment portfolio, offering the opportunity to influence long-term outcomes and leave a tangible mark on the borough’s commercial estate.
