Salary: £45-£50k (depend on experience) plus overtime
This is an exceptional opportunity for a fully trained multi-skilled engineer with relevant hands-on experience to join an outstanding and growing organization within the food industry.
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be involved in planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment and systems to ensure production targets are met, aiming for zero engineering downtime throughout the plants.
You will also ensure equipment availability for production, requiring energy and urgency to fix breakdowns promptly. Develop a thorough knowledge of the factory, machinery, and their use.
Your role responsibilities will include: Multi-skilled Engineer
* Fault finding, diagnosis, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Electronics repair experience is an advantage.
* Attending to planned and unplanned maintenance of high-speed production machinery such as servo-controlled P&P systems, filling machines, flow wrappers, check weighers, and shrink/stretch wrappers.
* This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic tasks with a sense of urgency.
* Ensuring smooth operation of factory machinery.
* Attending to breakdowns swiftly.
* Leveraging engineering skills to ensure products meet customer specifications, quality, and food safety standards.
* Proactively seeking engineering improvements and adopting practices to maintain a quality production environment.
To be considered for this role, you should have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
* Time-served, hands-on engineering experience, ideally within the food, dairy, or beverage manufacturing industry.
* Flexibility and openness to change, always seeking better, simpler, and more effective ways to maintain machines under controlled speed and pressure.
* Effective communication with production teams during breakdowns and decision-making to expedite line recovery.
* Expertise in ice cream production processes, with a focus on good maintenance practices.
* Commitment and enthusiasm to collaborate for better outcomes, with a customer service mindset towards the factory.
Shift Pattern: Multi-skilled Engineer
* Week 3: Fri, Sat & Sun 7-7 days; Mon & Tue 7-7 nights (then back to week 1)
An expectation to stay for a paid handover period is also included.
