As a Head Chef at HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything you do. You’ll inspire your kitchen team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that Residents will genuinely enjoy, while supporting their health and wellbeing through individual dietary needs, cultural preferences, and nutritional requirements. You’ll ensure hygiene and safety, manage the kitchen efficiently, oversee stock, budgets, orders, and compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP. You’ll work with central teams to maintain nutritional excellence and run a smooth, well-organised kitchen operation. You’ll also shape mealtimes into enjoyable, ambient dining experiences to enhance Residents’ quality of life.
Responsibilities
* Inspire and lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals.
* Ensure all dishes support Residents’ health and wellbeing, considering dietary needs and cultural preferences.
* Manage kitchen operations, including stock, budgets, orders, and compliance with food safety standards (HACCP).
* Collaborate with central teams to maintain nutritional excellence and efficient operation.
* Create a welcoming dining environment and positive mealtime experiences for Residents.
Qualifications & Requirements
* An S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery
* A minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
* A good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Beyond qualifications, energy, leadership, and the ability to motivate others are valued. You should be organized, able to plan ahead, and committed to delivering excellent service every day.
