Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lancaster to recruit an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant for a September start. This opportunity is available on a full-time or part-time basis, supporting pupils within an Early Years setting with additional needs.
You will be supporting children in EYFS with a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties and developmental delay. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, depending on individual pupil needs.
Key responsibilities
* Providing SEN support within an EYFS classroom
* Supporting pupils in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
* Encouraging engagement, confidence and positive behaviour
* Supporting learning through structured activities and play-based learning
Qualifications
* Has experience working with children with SEN (school, nursery or care setting)
* Has EYFS experience or a genuine interest in early years education (desirable)
* Is patient, nurturing and adaptable
* Is able to work effectively as part of a team
* Has a passion for supporting children with additional needs
A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential, as training and ongoing support can be provided for the right candidate.
