Social Work Practice Lead

Main Responsibilities
* Lead and develop social work practice within frontline teams in East Staffordshire.
* Support all Newly Qualified Social Workers (ASYE1 & ASYE2) and early career staff through coaching, mentoring and assessment.
* Maintain expertise in practice and deliver high quality early career framework (ECF) assessments.
* Provide reflective practice sessions, bespoke development and one-to-one and group reflection.
* Deliver policy and procedure updates and support complex child and family proceedings.
* Partner with local authority and partner agencies, support recruitment and act as deputy where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* A social work degree and Social Work England (SWE) registration.
* Significant post‑qualifying experience and experience of coaching/mentoring in a social work setting.
* Knowledge of reflective supervision and legislation guidance in children’s social care (Children Act, Adoption Act, Every Child Matters).
* Ability to assess and observe social workers against KSS and PCF with detailed assessment report.
* Strong understanding of practice excellence, restorative practice and child and families service ethos.
