Our technicians operate state-of-the-art equipment—from cold forging machines for heading, pointing and thread rolling, to 3D vision systems, six-axis robots, and bespoke welding machinery. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role within our Production team. Reporting to the Cold Forging Supervisor, the Cold Forging Technician will handle all processes on the fastener Cells to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of our customers.
The successful candidate will have a background in toolmaking or CNC machining and be proficient in cold forging processes including operating and troubleshooting headers, thread rollers and induction heating systems.
Key responsibilities:
* To schedule, load and monitor production runs on the cell, addressing any first line problems and performing first line maintenance as required and complete tool setting/changeover for every production run
* To perform regular stock control of consumables (lubricants and tooling dies) and inform Procurement when raw materials and spares parts are required
* To maintain Production equipment to minimise down-time and optimise efficiency
* To achieve agreed KPIs
* To promote health and safety and work within set guidelines
* To ensure the quality of your work meets the required standard
* To work within the LEAN and continuous improvement team principles
* To maintain housekeeping requirements, keeping the factory clean and tidy to a standard that optimises efficiency
* To actively contribute and support the delivery of projects as and when required
* To attend and participate in daily team meetings (SQDIP)
* To assist with other in-house production as and when required.
