Working largely remotely, you will be the vital link between design, construction, and ongoing safety, ensuring all systems meet stringent mandatory standards. About You: To excel in this role, you will need: Proven experience inRail Vehicle Engineering(including Electrical & Mechanical Systems Interfaces). Specific knowledge and experience working withloading units (Intermodal Load Units - ILUs). A strong background invehicle assessment, certification, maintenance, and audits. A meticulous eye for detail and a robust understanding of rail safety management and regulatory frameworks. Excellent report-writing and communication skills. The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively. Your Mission: In this role, you will be central to the safety certification process, with key responsibilities including: Performing conformance assessments for new or modified rail infrastructure, vehicles, Intermodal Load Units (ILUs), and associated equipment against mandatory standards. Preparing detailed assessment reports, certification documentation, and submissions to external approval bodies. Conducting audits of client activities to provide assurance and uphold certification integrity. Reviewing and assessing maintenance plans to ensure lifelong subsystem compliance. Witnessing testing and checking construction for conformance with approved designs. Providing expert advice to customers and stakeholders on regulations, including Interoperability and Common Safety Methods. Leading technical investigations without compromising certification independence.
