Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and forward-thinking Specialist Dental Nurse to join the Birmingham Community Dental Nursing team, supporting a variety of dental treatments under local anaesthetic, conscious sedation, and general anaesthesia.
We Are Looking To Recruit To The Post Below
Band 5 Paediatric Specialist Dental Nurse
30 hours / 0.8 WTE for 12 months. Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Must hold a Dental Sedation Certificate (IV and IHS), be up to date with Sedation training, and provide a CPD log related to sedation. Flexibility to travel within the division may be required.
Main Duties
* Maintain high standards of patient care and confidentiality across dental clinics
* Manage stock control and ordering of dental consumables
* Prepare and maintain specialised dental equipment and dispose of clinical waste
* Support recording of pre-operative assessments
* Support radiography procedures
* Identify staff and students needing additional training
* Support dental education and training activities
* Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure compliance and quality improvement
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Dental Nursing Qualification
* Post Qualification in Conscious Sedation IV/IHS
* GDC Registration
Desirable:
* Recognised Teaching Qualification at Level 3 or equivalent
Experience:
* Significant experience in dentistry
* Evidence of CPD relevant to sedation
* Supporting undergraduates and post-registration staff
