The Role
Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent permanent opportunity to join our Fortem team working with Amplius Housing group as a Groundworker. The Groundworker will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across Birmingham. Our office is based in Walsall, so travel is essential. Core Hours are Monday-Friday start on site at 8.00am-4.30pm and comes with Company Van & Fuel card and excellent benefits package
The Project
Fortem's successful contract with Amplius supports nearly 15,000 properties, This includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with additional Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
As a Groundworker you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The role involves carrying out all aspects of general Brick and Groundwork which includes Fencing, slabbing and basic carpentry. We are looking for people to join our team aligned to our values which include being honest & trustworthy and showing reliability and good communication with team members. Ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision you will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. The Groundworker takes ownership of work, aiming for successful turnarounds times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
Personal Qualities
Essential Criteria:
• Extensive experience in Ground works
• NVQ2 in Bricklaying
• Experience in covering a number of trades and waste management
• Full, clean driving licence Full UK Driving licence (less than 6 points) No recent driving bans
• Must be able to pass basic DBS check Desirable Criteria:
• Cat and Genny trained
• Social Housing Experience
• NVQ2 Building Maintenance Operative
