The Role
we are seeking a Senior manager to support a global investment management firm. You will play a key role in supporting the operational foundation of a high-growth private markets investment platform. This includes leading and managing a small team, fund operations, portfolio operations, performance reporting, business operations design, and change initiatives. You’ll work closely with investment, finance, legal, technology and external providers to ensure effective operations and high-quality reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Operations & Platform Support
o Support the design, enhancement and documentation of operating model processes across funds, portfolios and the management company.
o Contribute to the preparation of business performance reporting and ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
o Maintain key operational policies, procedures and controls.
o Assist in coordinating the annual audit cycle and supporting internal and external stakeholders.
2. Fund & Portfolio Operations
o Support end-to-end fund operations including capital accounts, waterfalls, fee calculations and financial reporting in collaboration with fund administrators.
o Coordinate quarterly valuation processes, ensuring smooth interaction between internal teams and external valuation partners.
o Help streamline deal execution workflows and ensure operational readiness for new investments.
o Respond to internal and external queries regarding performance, fund reporting and portfolio metrics.
o Assist with Investment Committee materials and process integrity.
3. Change, Transformation & Technology Enablement
o Support operational change initiatives, including onboarding new funds, vehicles and geographies.
o Work with colleagues across the wider business to adopt best practices and improve processes.
o Assist with implementing technology and data solutions to enhance efficiency, control and reporting.
o Participate in projects focused on automation, systems integration and process optimisation.
4. Collaboration & Culture
o Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance culture.
o Share ideas, best practices and improvements to support team development.
o Work closely with Senior colleagues to ensure effective execution of operational priorities.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
* Experience in private equity, private markets, infrastructure, real assets or alternatives fund operations / investment operations.
* Strong understanding of financial reporting, fund mechanics or performance metrics (IRR, MOIC, TVPI, etc.).
* Working knowledge of IFRS and audit cycles (beneficial but not essential).
* High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.
* Experience working with fund administrators and/or managing SPVs is an advantage.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A collaborative and proactive mindset.
A relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent Experience is beneficial.
