PE Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with an independent school in Salisbury to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teacher (QTS) for a September start. As part of a smaller, collaborative teaching team, you will primarily deliver Physical Education across KS3 and KS4, while also being flexible in supporting other subject areas where needed. This is a common feature within independent settings and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute more widely to the school community.
The school offers a 10% uplift in pay, reflecting the expectations and flexibility required within an independent setting.
The Role:
1. Teach Physical Education across KS3 and KS4
2. Plan and deliver engaging and structured PE lessons
3. Support pupils’ physical development, participation, and wellbeing
4. Contribute to extracurricular sports and activities where appropriate
5. Assist with teaching or supporting other subject areas when required
6. Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement
7. Work collaboratively with staff across departments
8. Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
9. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
10. Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
11. Confident delivering lessons across KS3 & KS4
12. Willingness to support additional subject areas where required
13. Strong classroom management and organisational skills
14. Flexible, proactive, and team‑focused approach
15. Passionate about sport, education, and student development
Contract Details:
16. Position: PE Teacher (QTS)

18. Start Date: September
19. Working Pattern: Full‑time
20. Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum + 10% uplift
21. Key Stages: KS3-KS4
22. Setting: Independent School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
23. QTS required
24. Secondary PE teaching experience preferred
25. Experience in independent or smaller school settings beneficial
26. Safeguarding training can be provided
