Description Cadent is the UK’s largest Gas Distribution Company, operating 4 of the 8 UK Gas Distribution Networks (East of England, London, NorthWest and West Midlands). The end-to-end Project Management Office (PMO), led by the PMO Lead, will enable Cadent to maintain full visibility over project investments and improve forecast accuracy – The project controls engineers main purpose is to assist in managing the company wide portfolio of projects and in doing so: Help co-ordinate the overall transformation portfolio enabling smooth projects running end to end Support the head of TMO in ensuring effective project and change management achieve the intended benefits Ensure that we report against predictability performance and cost for projects At Costain, we believe diverse perspectives drive innovation. LI-AW1 Responsibilities Directly support projects and programmes to enable delivery, providing guidance to Project Managers Support Project Managers with Project Controls and coordinating responses Produce information and reports for Governance meetings within Capital Delivery Ensure all new and in-flight projects follow the agreed project methodologies and have appropriate governance in place that support successful delivery of projects Provide a “single source of the truth” for information to Project Managers, which is accurate and relevant in-line with the mantra of “no surprises” Support the development of Risk Management Plans. Lead Risk Identification by hosting risk workshops, risk interviews and data collation Qualifications Has a recognised Project Controls qualification or solid experience in Project Controls. Relevant experience within a Multi Discipline Project Management or Project Control environment Strong communications skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels, particularly with Client Representatives in the support of stakeholder management. Competent IT skills including MS PowerPoint and MS Excel with the ability to use this to manipulate data and produce data gathering templates Can work to tight timescales and works well under pressure Have a good level of understanding of risk management methodologies and techniques Power BI Skills.
