We are looking for someone to join the Strategy and Enabling team to lead and support on a number of projects that develop services, strategies, policies and procedures across the remit of the Strategic Growth team with a focus on housing, related services. You will have the opportunity to work alongside partner organisations, undertake research work and to develop good working relationships with landlords all of which will help to develop our services, you will need to be able to confidently lead and drive forward projects and initiatives surrounding housing, homelessness, and domestic abuse. Day to day tasks are wide and varied but will include: Working with the Housing Manager in delivering new housing in partnership with Registered Providers, Developers, Agents, Planning colleagues, Homes England and other relevant partners. Overseeing the management of temporary accommodation units to ensure we meet compliance requirements, including through working with property owners and to support access to the private rented sector for our customers. Using our IT systems to support performance management and support the business around rent accounts and collecting income. To be able to confidently lead and drive forward projects and initiatives and undertake research work alongside managing a small team of officers. The successful candidate should have a good standard of education (preferably to degree level) and a minimum of 2 years related work experience working with customers, landlords or similar. Membership of CIH and previous experience in managing or leading staff is also desirable. You will be self-motivated, a strategic thinker and have excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with team members and the general public. This is a full-time position with annual salary of £38,760 – £41,343.00.00 per annum Appointment is usually at the bottom of the salary band with annual increments until the top of the scale is reached. You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post and a flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings. To meet the needs of the service, the ability to undertake the full range of duties for the contracted hours will be required and you will need to be able to meet the physical demands of the job in accessing and inspecting properties in particular. Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory clearance of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check. You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle for this post To work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post This job includes duties that may require a substantial amount of physical effort and mobility on a frequent basis. It is desirable that the post holder provides an appropriate means of transport for use in connection with the duties of this post. Recompense will be at the rate as agreed by the Council. You may, therefore, from time to time be required to provide suitable vehicle and your car insurance should cover you for business use.
